These two farm wagons are in the field in
front of a large farmstead barn. The long shadows cast by
the wagons indicate that the sun is low in the sky. The
barn in the scene is located in the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park at the Mountain Farm Museum near Cherokee,
NC.
This particular barn is the only building original to the
site of the farm, but it was moved about 200 yards to its
present location.
The haystack in front of the barn is surrounded by a locust
pole fence to protect it from the livestock.
This is a late summer scene, late in the day with some mist
moving across the mountains in the background.
